a holistic gift to mamas with young children
Behind the Brand
At Motherwort and Child, our decision to integrate ‘Motherwort’ into our identity is rooted in the profound symbolism and healing qualities inherent in this extraordinary herb. Fondly known as a “hug from the mother,” Motherwort offers a profound sense of peace and security during periods of grief, transition, and transformation. Beyond its physical healing prowess, Motherwort stands as a cherished ally for women’s well-being, accompanying them through every stage from menstruation to menopause. Moreover, its nurturing essence extends beyond gender boundaries, providing solace and balance to anyone seeking emotional support and healing. As a moon herb, birthing herb, and menopause herb, Motherwort embodies a timeless nurturing energy that resonates with all. By embracing Motherwort in our business name, we pledge to offer holistic care rooted in the wisdom and compassion of the natural world, guiding you towards healing, balance, and inner harmony.

Acknowledgement to country
We support birthing on country
Motherwort and Child acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the country on which we work, the Gimuy-Walubarra Yidi Bama and recognise their continuing connection to the land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise those whose ongoing efforts to protect and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures will leave a lasting legacy for the future.
Birthing on country is a metaphor for the best start in life for First Nations families. The term recognises that when women give birth in Australia, they are doing so on the sovereign lands of the First peoples of Australia who have never ceded ownership of their land, seas and sky.
